Data Classes
A Data Class is your table or complex type or section in a specification. Essentially it is a collection of data points and data classes.
You can explore data classes within a data model using the navigation panel:
1) Clicking on any class under the Data Classes heading within the navigation panel will open the data class information in the display panel, and reveal any child data classes.
2) The Multiplicity of a 'child' section is displayed here i.e. at least one one set of participant identifiers must be provided with any registration and consent submission.
3) The Data Class Name i.e. participant identifiers, ID i.e. 39047 and Version i.e. 3.2.0
4) The Data Class metadata such as a description, owners, data quality, systems, queries to retrieve the information etc.
5) Data Elements (column in a table, field-name in a form or element in a schema) that are contained within the class
6) Children - other 'child' classes that are related to this class, including multiplicity i.e. max occurs, min occurs
7) History - detailed history of changes to the data class
8) Based on information - these are the classes that this class is based on i.e. if this data class is based on another data class it inherits the other classes attributes, in this case it inherits the same data elements
9) Parent of - these are the child data classes that are related to this class
10) Parents - these are the parent data classes that are related to this class
11) Related To - these are the classes that are related to this class in some way
12) Rules - if there are business rules that are use or are applied to the data elements within this class they will appear here
