How to create a new Data Model from a White Rabbit Report

Once you have successfully generated a White Rabbit report for your database, you may choose to create a Data Model based on the tables and fields and profiling information included in this report.

Instructions

1. After logging in with your credentials you will see the dashboard. If you are a user which has been assigned the curator or admin role, you will see an Import Menu in the top-right hand corner:


2. Click on the Import Menu button to open the Import Menu:


3. Select “Import Excel” in order to access the following screen:

4. Complete the following fields:

  • Enter the name you would like to give to the Data Model and under “Select Excel Import Type” select White Rabbit Profile.
  • Choose the generated Scan Report.xlsx file from the working folder to be uploaded.
  • For a White Rabbit profile, an Excel Config XML File is not needed so this field can be ignored.

5. Once complete, click on “Import”.  A pending import page will be displayed.

6. After a short period of time dependent on the upload size, the pending import page will report its status as “FINALIZED”.  At this time the newly created Data Model can be viewed by refreshing the page.

7. You can now navigate through the tables (data classes) and columns (data elements) and view the profiling data for each table and column.
