The model catalogue supports the definition of classification schemes for data elements, model components, and models.
In the case of data elements, these schemes may correspond to published ontologies, or they may simply offer a means of grouping together data elements that have a related interpretation. For example, a classification scheme might assist the user in finding different data elements pertaining to smoking, or all of the data elements regarded as ‘direct identifiers’.
