Configuring a Periodic Import from an External Database
This guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to configure a periodic import from an external database. By following these steps, users can easily set up a system to periodically profile databases and generate new data models at specified intervals. This feature is useful for ensuring that data models are always up to date and accurate.
Please note: in order to use the periodic importer you will need to request a static IP address(es) for your site from our support team. Additionally, you must ensure these static IP addresses are marked as trusted/whitelisted by your database firewall.
1. While logged in to the onboarder, navigate to the Importer.
2. Click on Data Model Live/Periodic Import.
3. Enter the name of your new Data Model.
4. Select which schema you would like to use.
5. Click the Use External Database field.
6. Select the Database Type from the dropdown menu.
7. Enter the Database Schema.
8. Enter the Database URL.
9. Enter the Database User login details.
10. Select whether you want to include the profiling data in this periodic import.
11. Select how often you want the import to occur.
