How do I find data?

The Browser is public facing data browser that provides technical users with access to data standards.

Features:

  • Search for datasets or data standards.

  • Filter search results.

  • Browse dataset metadata.

Tutorial:

  1. To begin, open the Browser by pasting MDX Browser > Search (metadata.works) into your browser. Note, you do not have to log in.

You may choose to search for a specific dataset by typing a term into the search box or simply by searching for a dataset using the filters to the left of the search results.

2. Filter by Keywords to only view datasets that relate to a certain topic(s).

3. Filter by Partner to examine the data held by selected organisations.

4. Click on a dataset to learn more about it.

5. Here you will find a summary of the dataset (title, organisation and abstract) and any attached assets.

6. Click on the section headings to explore the data further:

  • Summary: the first section includes a short abstract and contact details for the publisher.

  • Documentation includes a rich text description of the dataset or links to media such as documents, images, presentations, videos or links to data dictionaries, profiles or dashboards.

  • Document Control shows information concerning the authoring, review and approval of the data model.

  • Version History shows you the versions of the dataset.
