Relationships
The MetadataExchange consists of 2 types of object at core, “MetadataElement” or “CatalogueElement” (which can be DataModels, DataClasses, DataElements, DataTypes, etc) and “Relationships”.
Relationships are configured when the system is loaded, but can be configured for different use-cases. This gives the MetadataExchange a huge degree of flexibility when modelling different types of data structures, and enable it to model structures in many different types of system.
By selecting the “Relationship Type” menu item in the RHS drop-down menu a list of relationships can be accessed, and configured.
The system will come preloaded with the following relationships:
