License for AR6 WGII Data for Figure TS.5(b): Global distribution of biodiversity loss

Agreement on the use of data in regard to "AR6 WGII Data for Figure TS.5(b): Global distribution of biodiversity loss":

AR6 WGII Data for Figure TS.5(b): Global distribution of biodiversity loss" is an aggregated figure based on the material originally published in Warren et al. 2018 (see below*). It represents data that are still actively being studied and published upon. With that in mind, the license for use is very restrictive. This restrictive license recognizes that these data were produced as part of a decade long research study coordinated by Dr. Jeff Price, Tyndall Climate Change Centre (jeff.price@uea.ac.uk) as a partnership between Tyndall Climate Change Centre and James Cook University. The underlying models required more than 1 million hours of CPU time and 1 Petabyte of storage.

License:

  1. These data may ONLY be used for the purpose of recreating figures for publicity or verification/validation of "AR6 WGII Data for Figure TS.5(b): Global distribution of biodiversity loss”. They may not be used for ANY other use without the express written permission of Dr. Jeff Price (jeff.price@uea.ac.uk). This especially includes any scientific study as many papers using these data are already in review or in press.

  2. Should the data wish to be used for any other purpose then.
    a) Dr. Price must be contacted at the address above to give approval in writing.
    b) Depending on the content, any scientific paper would need to include Dr. Price, at a minimum, as a co-author (and would contribute to the paper to ensure the proper interpretation of the data were used). Other co-authors may need to be added depending on the use of the data as without their efforts the data would not be available for use. This needs to be established in writing, in advance of the study/paper writing.

  3. The proper attribution of the data for "AR6 WGII Data for Figure TS.5(b): Global distribution of biodiversity loss” is: Price, J., N. Forstenhaeusler, E. Graham and R. Warren. 2022. AR6 WGII Data for Figure TS.5(b): Global distribution of biodiversity loss.

  4. Any publicity/press releases/ etc. needs to acknowledge Dr. Jeff Price, through a quote if appropriate. Furthermore, Tyndall Climate Change Centre and eResearch at James Cook University needs to be acknowledged in any press release/publicity.
