Using the Model Catalogue : Metadata Registry & Curation
The MDR uses a role-based security model, so to use it one would need to have an account setup by an administrator with a specific role configuration.
One can register online and obtain read-only or guest user access, and then according to one's role obtain rights to view, edit and manage datasets.
If you navigate to the start screen you should see something similar to this:
Currently the Signup feature is disabled (but your local administrator may have enabled it). You should be sent a login by the administrator by email.
Click on the Login button and enter your username and password:
You can then expect to go to the main catalogue screen which shows the main Metadata Registry features:
From here you can go directly to look at a particular set of entities (see Overview: for an explanation of the different types of entity used in the MDR)
Obviously one can browse around and explore the metadata registry at this point, however it is likely that you will want to do one of the following things at this point:
- Add a new data-set.
- Compare different elements from different data-sets.
- Build a new list of data elements and create a model, exporting it as an Excel spreadsheet, or XML file.
