In this example we are going to add the COSD dataset.  It has been converted into the model catalogue's proprietry format, however it could also be imported from an XML file (as long it confirms to the Model Catalogue's MDR XML Schema)

From the main menu click on the Catalogue drop-down:

and then click on the Assets menu item.

An Asset is file that is added to the MDR, in this sense the MDR is also acting as a Repository, so that files that define datasets, such as DDL or .XSD schema files can be added to the storage area of the MDR.

Clicking on Assets will take the user to the Assets page, which will display a list of assets that have been stored in the MDR.

When the Assets page is displayed the user will need to click on the drop down import menu, and select the type of file to import.

At present care should be exercised when importing these files, since some of the file-types are selectively implemented.  For instance the XML import will only work on files which conform to the MDR XML Schema, rather than any XML file.  It is expected that the user will first ensure that the file to be imported is in the correct format before importing it.

Assuming we have a *.mc file (e.g. COSD.mc) we need to click on the Import MC item, and then select the file to import.

After clicking Save the MDR should show a 'Pending' screen, which will continue to be shown while the artefacts are being imported.

In time the "Finalized" Screen should be displayed.

At this point the dataset should be imported into the MDR, if there are problems then error messages should appear on this screen.

In this case we can go to the Catalogue menu and click on Classifications, and the new draft 'COSD' classification will be imported.

It will be given a default version of 1.
