    New branding configuration options are now available using built in header, footer and landing page.

    The overhaul of the Browser UI represents the most substantial change in this release. The main changes include:

    • Improved look and feel

    • Streamlined layout

    • Customisable colour palette (at design stage)

    • Ability to quickly navigate between Data Models, Data Classes and Data Elements

    📊 New and Improved Data Model Layout

    We have also made substantial changes to the layout of Data Models on the browser, including:

    • Refreshed UI and colour scheme

    • A new sidebar that emphasises the Data Dictionary / Terminology, with the full list of Data Classes displayed by default

    • Improved display for Descriptive Metadata

    • Last Updated Date now displayed alongside Version Number and Publication Date

    • New button to complete a Feedback Form for each data model

    We are excited to introduce a new enhancement in this release that provides users with Users now have the flexibility to switch between Light and Dark modes directly through the browser.

    Key Highlights:

    User-Friendly Interface: The addition of Light and Dark mode options offers , offering a more personalised and comfortable viewing experience to suit individual preferences.

    Enhanced Accessibility: Users can now choose the mode that best caters to their visual preferences and ambient lighting conditions, contributing to a more accessible and inclusive user interface.

    How to Use:

    Toggle in Browser Settings: Users can easily switch between Light and Dark modes by clicking on the sun/moon icon in the top left if of the the browser window. Improved User Experience: Enjoy a visually optimised experience by selecting the mode that suits your environment and preferences. Experiment with both modes to discover the one that enhances your overall user experience

    🖥️ Search Results Improvements for Data Classes and Elements

    It’s now easier than ever to find and understand the data you are looking for with a new and improved search result return for data elements and data classes.

    Results for data elements/classes now include:

    • the result type (Data Element, Data Class etc)

    • a link to the containing data model and/or data class

    • the publisher name

    ⚖️ Improved Search Results Weighting

    We’ve made additional improvements to search results by adjusting the weighting (i.e. how important something is to a data model’s ranking in search results) of certain types of metadata:

    • Search queries that match the Title or subsequently the Keywords will be boosted in the results ranking

    • In general searches, results will be boosted in the following order of weighting:

      • Dataset

      • Data Standard

      • Terminology

      • Data Class

      • Data Element

    We’ve improved the responsiveness of the browser to ensure that whether you are viewing the browser on your desktop PC, tablet or a mobile device, you are able to view the data you need with ease.

    Improved Accessibility: Now fully AXE Compliant

    • The MDW Browser is now fully tested against the WCAG 2.1 (AA level) AXE DevTools requirements. This means that our site has been tested and updated to ensure that it is accessible to everyone including individuals with visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, or neurological disabilities.
