The MDR uses a role-based security model, so to use it one would need to have an account setup by an administrator with a specific role configuration. 
One can register online and obtain read-only or guest user access, and then according to one's role obtain rights to view, edit and manage datasets.

New Users

If you navigate to the home page of Metadata Exchange instance you are registering for you should see something similar to this (in this case we are registering for the test server):



In some cases you my be sent a login by your local administrator via email but alternatively you can register for an account.

And fill in the above fields with your chosen username, email and password (passwords must have at least one letter, number, and special character: !@#$%^& and should be longer than 8 characters.).

You'll then receive a message asking you to validate your email address.

Once you've validated your email address you will have access to the system however, you will probably start with a blank catalogue until your administrator gives you access to specific models and sets your role. 

Returning Users

Click on the Login button and enter your username and password:

If you have entered your details successfully you will be directed to the model catalogue screen which lists the Data Models you have been granted access to.

If you cannot login, you have the option to reset your password or to request assistance using the Service Desk Portal.
