University restricted data: Personal
Personal Data that includes personal identifiers and therefore falls under the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
Student records: eg. any data that identifies a current or former student such as name, home address, date of birth, qualifications
Employee records: eg. any data that identifies a current or former member of staff, such as name, home address, date of birth, qualifications, NI number.
Philanthropy and Alumni Records: where personal data is maintained for former students or as part of philanthropy campaigns.
Research data: Medical trials data, where participating individuals are identifiable through their name, address, medical records.
Research Survey: Where an individual’s personal details are collected as part of surveys. Research data: Designs or scientific test results; where 3rd parties have set specific requirements for security or data confidentiality.
University restricted data: IP and Commercially Sensitive
Data which has a high commercial value or requires security due to contractual requirements:
Sensitive research and development work with high IP value.
Financial data that has not been formally released or published and therefore remains confidential.
Statistical data that may provide a commercial advantage to others
